What’s more motivating than tiny cookies?!?
My daughter doesn’t know this is cereal yet, so she thinks she’s getting cookies – and a lot of them! Pair it with this cute book, “May I Plase Have a Cookie” by Jennifer E. Morris, and you can teach good manners and counting all at once. I haven’t introduced zero as a number yet, but as your child gets ready for kindergarten this would be a great activity to do so. Just write the numbers on a piece of paper and have your child count out the cookies. My daughter is on the younger side, so I added a dots corresponding with each number to help her out.
If you’re looking to have your child count all the way to 10, using a ice try is a great variation for this activity. It get’s kids used to counting in the form of a 10 frame (think: top row, left to right…..then bottom row left to right).
Little learners today, leaders tomorrow…..happy creating!
